| Competition Guidelines: |
1. Prints must be at least 8 X 10, and no more than 11 X 16 inches.
2. Panoramics can be no more than 11 inches on the short side, and should be mounted or matted
3. Prints must be matted
4. Put your name on the back of the print in the upper right hand corner
5. Check-in your prints at the meeting, up to three per category (color, black and white)
6. Prints may be checked-in until 8:00 PM
7. During the judging period, prints will be displayed with a bag (in which you will place your votes (tickets)) and a contest entry number
8. Each member present that night will be able to cast three votes in the advanced category and three votes (or tickets) in the beginner/intermediate category
9. Voting will take place in shifts (or rotations) -- e.g., one group will vote while the other group watches a video and then the groups will swap
10. Votes will be counted and the winners will be announced at the close of the evening
11. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be selected for each of the four categories: black and white advanced, black and white beginner/intermediate, color advanced, and color beginner/intermediate
12. Ties will be decided by a vote of the Executive Committee
13. All non-winning entries will be taken home by their owners at the end of the evening
14. Winning entries will be exhibited on the PVNP web site.

Our Mission
Potomac Valley Nature Photographers is dedicated to celebrating nature photography in all its forms and at all levels of practice. It promotes the growth and development of its members' photographic skills through the sharing of in-house expertise and the provision of instructional programs by local and national experts. It actively promotes public awareness of local natural resources and the need to conserve these resources. Through education, it seeks to pass along the rich traditions of nature photography to future generations.
